Everything in design has a story and I have begun to dig into my memories of how some of my designs came to be.

The Jacket

We (my Mother and I sewed). She/I made probably 75% of the clothing I wore. When I was in Jr High School, my Mother made me a Jacket. It was green wool, at the time I didn’t realize it was similar to an Army Green. We probably got it from A & S or Macys, they had
departments dedicated to the sewing arts.
I wore that jacket to school and one of the make teachers asked with great excitement, “DID YOU GET THAT FROM AN ARMY/ NAVY STORE?”. I was more surprised and proud that my Mother made something looked professional.
