I usually work my patterns out before cutting them in the actual fabric, using muslin or toile. Cutting in the final fabric could be costly, but what to do with all that left over fabric. I patched it together and I have made some garments from all that left over fabric.
This skirt is lined with cotton and was washed before finishing to give it a soft texture and and help the stitched parts look even more 3 dimensional and quilted look.

Length approximately 36" from top of waist band.
